A full assessment looking at your child’s understanding of language, use of language, their speech and social skills is an important first step to ensure that their Speech and Language Therapy support is meeting your child’s needs.
This will include detailed disussion with parents/carers to gain background information and discuss concerns and progress so far, an observation in school (if appropriate), as well as formal and/or informal assessments to identify your child’s strengths and needs so that the recommendations meet their needs.
A full report is included in the cost of assessment. The report will include: Background information, assessment findings, recommended targets (if required) and a list of strategies that all adults who are in contact with your child can use in order to support their communication.
